If there is one prayer that you should pray/sing every day and every hour, it is the
LORD's prayer (Our FATHER in Heaven prayer)
It is the most powerful prayer.
A pure heart, a clean mind, and a clear conscience is necessary for it.

Calculate Current and Cumulative Grades Using the Grading Method
Review Grading Rubrics

Great
Students,

I greet you this day,
Procrastination is inimical to time.
The fact that Mr. C does not deduct any penalty due to late homework assignments (besides Discussion Board assignments)
should not make you to procrastinate.
The method used to calculate your final grade is known as the Weighted Average Method
This implies that the different forms of assessments have different weights.
The course syllabus provides a detailed example of the calculation of your final grade.
More examples are also explained in Questions $25$ and $27$ of this website
Considering the fact that you are taking a mathematics course, it is important that you use the
information provided in the
course syllabus and calculate your grades yourself.
Then, you can verify your calculations with this calculator.
You may use this calculator and determine your current and cumulative grades anytime.
Hopefully, this will guide you in your decision towards a successful completion of the course.
Please do not request to know your grades by email or text message. I shall not send any grade
to you via email or text message.
Please use the school's LMS (Learning Management System) to see your grade.
You can confirm the grade you see in the LMS with your calculations, and also confirm it with
this calculator.
If there is any discrepancy, please contact me via the school's system.
FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act) law restricts me from sending any grade via
email or text message to you.
I did not make the law. I am just abiding by the law. I hope you understand.

For Online/Virtual/Hybrid Students:
(1.) The topic(s) to be covered each week are listed in the Tentative Class Calendar of the
course syllabus.
(2.) It is expected that you complete the topic(s) in the assignments once they are assigned for
the week.
(3.) Please calculate your current grade based on those weekly topics only.
(4.) The cumulative grade is based on all the topics (both covered and yet to cover).
(5.) Please review the Examples provided at the bottom of each form.
Click on an example (a tab) to show it.
Click again to hide it.
It is highly recommended that you review each example one at a time.
Once you are done reviewing an example, please hide it prior to reviewing another example.
(6.) All the topics have already been assigned to you. You do not need to wait for me to cover
it before you begin to work on them.
You are welcome to work ahead.

For Traditional/Hybrid Students:
(1.) The topic(s) to be covered in each class session are listed in the Tentative Class Calendar
of the course syllabus.
(2.) It is expected that you complete the topic(s) in the assignments once they are covered.
(3.) Please calculate your current grade based on the topics that have been covered only.
(4.) The cumulative grade is based on all the topics (both covered and yet to cover).
(5.) Please review the Examples provided at the bottom of each form.
Click on an example (a tab) to show it.
Click again to hide it.

it before you begin to work on them.
You are welcome to work ahead.

Should you have any questions, please contact me via the school's system.
Thank you.

To Calculate: the current grade and the cumulative grade

Let us assume that you want to find out your current grade in Week $5$ (fifth week of the course).
According to the course syllabus:
In the beginning of Week $5$:

(1.) DB $1$ should have been completed.

(2.) DB $2$ should have been completed.

For a student who made:
$90\%$ on DB $1$
$80\%$ on DB $2$
Let us calculate the current grade and the cumulative grade.

Let us assume that you want to find out your midterm grade , the grade in Week $12$ (the twelfth week of the course).
According to the course syllabus:
In the beginning of Week $12$:

(1.) DB $1$ should have been completed.

(2.) DB $2$ should have been completed.

(3.) DB $3$ should have been completed.

(4.) DB $4$ should have been completed.

(5.) Midterm should have been completed.

For a student who made:
$90\%$ on DB $1$
$80\%$ on DB $2$
$85\%$ on DB $3$
$75\%$ on DB $4$
$95\%$ on the Midterm
Let us calculate the current grade and the cumulative grade.

Let us assume that you want to find out your midterm grade , the grade in Week $7$ (the seventh week of the course).
According to the course syllabus:
In the beginning of Week $7$:

(1.) DB $1$ should have been completed.

(2.) DB $2$ should have been completed.

(3.) Midterm should have been completed.

For a student who made:
$90\%$ on DB $1$
$80\%$ on DB $2$
$95\%$ on the Midterm
Let us calculate the current grade and the cumulative grade.

Please be reminded (as stated in your course syllabus and the course announcements) that:
(1.) The final grade is the Weighted Total grade in your Blackboard gradebook.

(2.) The final grade is rounded to the nearest integer only one time
$86.512\% \approx 87\% \:\:\:while\:\:\: 86.499999999\% \approx 86\%$

(3.) Please do not request for extra credit or bonus points. I do not have any.
I do not believe in extra credit or bonus points unless it is part of the school's policy. It is not.
I believe in giving all my students a lot of oppportunities to succeed.
All assessments have been released for you.
The initial due dates are the same as the final due dates for the Module DB assignments.
The initial due dates for all the assessments besides the DB assignments are different from
the final due dates.
Those dates are listed on your course syllabus. Besides the DB assignments, there is no deduction for late work for all the assessments after the initial due dates.
However, please do not procrastinate. Begin your work immediately.
You are definitely welcome to work ahead.
Any work submitted after the final due dates will not be accepted.
Grades will be entered/updated at the end of each week by midnight.
Grades will be updated as you complete the assessments.

(4.) Should you have any questions, please contact me via the school's system.

Thank you.
